Girls Trip: Waco, TX

Home from vacation and feeling like I need a week to recover. Liza and I have been talking about going on a trip with each other since we've known each other so we were both in awe that it finally happened. We talked about a few different places and ultimately ended up in Waco. So happy with our decision. So, grab your coffee because there is a lot of pictures that I'm sharing from our trip.

Boarded our plan and ready for a week in Texas!

We got in at 6:30 to Waco, we flew into Waco. It was early enough we still had time to grab dinner, go to a couple places, but already dark outside.

We stayed in an VRBO and it was charming. The location was okay and the house was so clean and perfect for us.

Up early and ready to explore Waco...

We made breakfast reservations for our first day at Magnolia Table.

Every single detail was perfect.

We didn't have reservations Friday, but we got up early and headed back because it was just so good.
I highly recommend making reservations before going. You can make them 30 days in advance and they go quickly. Also, have the strawberry butter.

Magnolia Press is the cutest coffee shop. If I was a student at Baylor, I'd be doing all my studying there.

We started at Magnolia home. They had several displays showcasing their furniture and also the decor.

All of the exposed brick is my favorite!

My favorite part was meeting with one of the employees to help me style my mantle. He worked with us for over 30 minutes and gave me so many options that he recommended. He was patient, listened to what I loved. He was so fun to talk to also. Such a fun experience. I can't wait until my stuff arrives so I can show you my mantle!

The grounds at Magnolia are beautiful. Every single detail was well thought out.

They recently opened six small shops and they were so great. This particular one was for men.

The church was absolutely stunning. It was so simple, yet the details were spectacular.

The main store is huge and full of all kinds of treasures. I didn't think the prices were high for most things. And the displays gave such amazing inspiration.

We went early in the mornings so there wasn't a ton of people yet. We did go back Friday afternoon and there was defiantly more people, but it didn't feel overwhelming.

Chip and Jo's hands were everywhere. It was fun to see after watching them do this on their show.

Signing the guest book...

We didn't have to wait in line for the bakery. And the presentation of the cupcakes was perfect.

We actually didn't end up eating all of them. I didn't feel like the taste lived up to how they looked.

Next up, we took a tour of Waco. It was so informative, and we were able to see so much of the town.

We saw several of the fixer uppers that were on the show.

After seeing Clint's house, we stopped in at Harp Design Co.

One of my very favorite houses from the show...

We learned so much about the town of Waco, other than just Fixer Upper.

We stopped at the coffee shop that was featured in an episode of Fixer Upper.

This property is known as the Castle in Waco and it recently got new owners...Chip and Jo. I'm excited to see what they do with this. It was currently under construction, so I'm sure something fun!

We shopped at Spice Village. We didn't come away with any treasures, but it was cute.

Did you even go to Texas if you didn't try Whataburger?! It was a very good cheeseburger!

The Dr. Pepper museum was in Waco, just across the street from Magnolia. We toured it and learned all about the famous soda pop in Waco.

I loved seeing all the old advertisements. It's amazing how things have changed...

And apparently I can't pass up an old gas pump.

The best part...Dr. Pepper floats after the tour.

We stopped in at Joanna's first shop. It's amazing what this little shop has turned into.

We went back Friday to the Silos and ate at the food trucks. This was my choice...

And it was a good choice!!!

Our view for a few hours. We had fun relaxing and people watching.

We took a drive and saw where the cooking show is filmed...

And ended our trip with Torchy's Tacos. Such a great taco! Worth it if you're going to Waco!

We watched the sunrise one last time in Waco before spending the day in airports due to delays. It was all worth it though!

Although most of our treasures made the trip home, a few didn't! So sad. We're already planning our next trip back and I can't wait!

If you ever get the chance to go, do it! It's the perfect girls trip destination!
