Surprise!

Happy Monday! This past weekend we had a very special celebration! My Grandma Bonnie is turning 80 in November. She leaves for the winter in just a couple of weeks so we can't celebrate her on her actual birthday. She means so much to so many people so several months ago, my Mom and I started planning a surprise party.

I was the lucky one that got to take her shopping for a "girls day" on Saturday! I picked her up around 9:30 and I told her to plan on being gone all day. We didn't have a plan or time-frame (so she thought!). We were just going to enjoy our day, just the two of us.

I really enjoyed our day! But, I had a time-frame. While we were having fun, everyone was at home busy setting up for the party! I knew I needed to have her back in town about 4:30....

She was shocked!!! She had no idea!

The backyard was full of her family and friends.

The decorations were perfect!

And Emily found us a bouncy slide! EVERYONE at the party enjoyed it!
My grandma and two of her sisters even went down, more than once!

The kids loved it!

And everyone enjoyed watching!!

Things were kept simple. There were flowers on all the tables. We had a taco bar with chili-rellenos. An amazing cake and some sugar cookies.

Before blowing out her candles!

All of her great-grandkids. Missing one of her granddaughters, Jen.

When I'm 80, I hope I'm as much fun as her!
Patron for the GG!

We are lucky to have her as our Grandma and our kids are lucky to have her as their GG!

A chalkboard all about the year she was born!

I wish I would have taken more pictures of all the guests because so many people came to celebrate.
Fern and Orville have been friends of my grandparents for a very long time!

I'm so happy that she was surprised! She loved seeing her sisters and being surrounded by family and friends. She is a very special lady to so many of us, and I'm grateful we had the opportunity to celebrate her!

A big thank you for everyone that came, all of the help, and for everyone keeping it a secret!

We love you Bonnie Jean!!! XOXO

Happy Early Birthday to your grandma. It looks like such a fun party. Especially the bounce slide.
