2nd Month Update

EAT

I am still exclusively breast feeding Colson. We go to his doctor next week for a check-up so I'm praying he is still growing like he should so I can continue with this. Colson takes a bottle during the day while I'm at work but other than that it's all me. I love the time that I get with Colson while nursing since I'm away all day at work. I nurse him at 5am, 6pm, and 9:30pm.

He takes a bottle for 3 feedings while I'm at work. During the day Colson eats about 4 oz. every 3 hours. After he eats he is awake for about an hour and a half before going back to sleep. I try to stick to the eat/ play/ sleep schedule, it seems to work great for my little man.

I'm exhausted from breastfeeding and eat more now than when I was pregnant. I've really been struggling sincec going back to work with my milk supply. I'm pumping 3 times a day but some days my supply is abnormaly small. I need to produce at least 12 ounces and that doesn't always happen. I'm taking Fenugreek for increased production but I can't tell much of a difference.

SLEEP

Sleep is good for both Colson and I! He takes an hour and a half naps between feedings during the day. At night he sleeps a solid 7 and a half hours! However a dietitian just suggested to wake him and feed him once during the night. After trying this-I'm frustrated because the only thing we accomplish in the 30-40 minutes we are awake are snuggles. Now, don't get me wrong...I love snuggling with him but I surely don't need to wake him up to do it at 1:30 in the morning! I rock Colson to sleep every night. Colson has slept in his crib since he was 5 weeks old! He's a mover so he needs his room. The boy loves his sleep. He is so much like his momma when it comes to sleep!

Colson's head control is out of this world! He uses his arms to hold his head, neck, and shoulders up for quite sometime. He is getting so much better at tummy time but he doesn't love it. I love his smile even though I don't see it nearly enough! He loves to snuggle and it's my favorite time with him. He wants to talk so badly and moves his mouth while flalling his arms. Seriously precious. He loves his arms and hands constantly moving them and never tucked away. He stares at the ceiling fan and the mobile that is on his bouncer.

Some of his favorite things include: staring at the ceiling fan, his Uncle Daniel, snuggles with just about anybody (especially his momma!!!), bath/shower time, and his sleep!

Some of his not-so-favorites include: the fact that his momma won't let him suck his thumb, being put into the bath and taken out of the bath, being patient waiting to eat, being woke up for any reason (really hates this), fighting sleep, sitting alone, and lotion after his bath.
