Oldie but Goodie: Skillet Apple Pie

I wanted to share one of our favorite dessert recipes again with you. I shared this about four years ago but I made it again recently and was reminded how easy it is and how delicious it is!

Here's What You'll Need....
10 inch skillet
2 refrigerated pie crusts
1- 21 ounce apple pie filling
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon and sugar
stick of unsalted butter

Here's What You'll Do...

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Melt stick of butter in skillet over medium heat. Safe 1 tablespoon of butter for later...

Put your cup of brown sugar into butter and melt together for about two minutes.

Smooth it out......

Place one of your pie crusts on top...

Put your apple pie filling in and smooth out. Put your cinnamon and sugar on top, save just a little bit for the top. (I usually use all of it on the inside and add more too the top.)

Place your second pie crust on top. Rub the tablespoon of butter on and sprinkle some brown sugar and cinnamon and sugar on top.

Bake it for 30 minutes in your oven and I served it hot and fresh out of the oven with apple pie ice cream. We also love it the second and third day...the bottom gets hard and tastes so good.

Happy Wednesday and happy baking!!!
