Peyton had his first day of preschool yesterday.
We’ve been talking about this day for months!
In March we signed him up and went to check out school. While we were there he met other classmates and was able to play and become familiar with the teachers and building.
Last week we went back for open house and delivered all of his supplies!!
He found his backpack hook!
And spent time exploring!
On Monday he started to get nervous. He told me he wasn’t going to go because he didn’t want me to be alone. He is so sensitive and sweet. We talked about how much fun he wasn’t going to have and he seemed better.
We talked about how much fun school was going to be over dinner on Monday night!
And we read back to school books before bed!
Tuesday morning he came into my closet and told me he didn’t want to go to school. I talked him up....
We took pictures!
I secretly adore that he has a Toy Story backpack.
His brother and sister joined in!
{it was pajama day for Spirit week for Colson}
He still wasn’t going at this point...
So we stopped to see Dad on the way!
He gave him a drink of coffee and we headed to school!
And he went right in!!! Y’all I was prepared for tears. He gave me several hugs and we said goodbye.
When I picked him up he was so excited to tell me all about school! He couldn’t even stop long enough for a picture.
He did tell me he can’t wait to go back!
Doggy was waiting for him and the reunion was the best thing I’ve seen all week! True love!
He loved school. He talked about it all afternoon and this was just before bed....I’d say school is a success!
I can’t wait to see how he grows academically this year. I’m also excited to see his personality shine! He’s already talking about friends and I know that he’s going to make some great friends this year!
