Denver 2023

We took our boys to Denver this past weekend. Travis and I have been going to Denver for eight years now to watch sporting events. We both love the city, love watching sports, and have talked about bringing our boys once they're older. And it finally happened. We also invited my parents along for this trip.

Here's a little recap of our weekend...

Grab your coffee because I'm sharing so many pictures from our weekend.

Ready to drop off this girl with Jo and Papa and head to the airport!

We were all very excited to head to Denver!

When we got to the airport, they had upgraded Travis and I but since we were traveling with our kids, we all needed to change seats and get back together with our kids. Everyone sat and I had an entire row, alone...but not for long because someone realized I had an entire row and joined me...

Not mad about this row buddy!

While we were landing in Denver, this plane was taking off. The boys thought that was pretty cool.

This trip, we stayed at The Rally Hotel and it was incredible.

They have a few shops inside as well as resturants.

The boys loved this in the lobby. Baseballs were cycling through it.

We had the best views from our room.

In my favorite city with my favorite person. This never gets old.

We dropped off our bags, changed, and headed for the game.
I took the boys to meet Dinger, but we missed him. Thankful to get a high five!

So excited to be here together!

The energy at the first game we went to was great. It was a close game and these two enjoyed it!

Peyton did so much better than we expected. He sat on his Dad's lap for most of the games!

And this boy took it all in...

The Rockies won the first game with a grand slam! The energy was amazing and so fun to see!

I just love this place.

Celebrating a victory. Leaving the game in a very happy city.

We walked over to McGregor Square. Our hotel is apart of this and the square is full of fun!

We had appetizers and drinks.

Y'all, I can't get over this room. We walked in and had the best views of the city, square, and park.

Cartoons with a view....

But not for long because we have a lot to see...ready to explore!

We went up and checked out the hotel pool. It was on the roof.

Then we met Nana and Papa for a quick bite to eat and coffee in the square.

Walked across the street and snapped this picture of the hotel. The hotel in on the right, condos are on the left, and the square is in the middle of it. I can't recommend this hotel enough.

We walked around the ballpark.

Before heading inside for a tour. Travis and I took this tour several years ago and it was great. We were in a smaller group and they gave so many facts. This time, the group was large and they really catered it to our kids. Both were a great experience.

Colson wanted his picture under the catcher...

This warehouse is original to downtown. They built the ballpark around it. This is where Bellyslide beer was created. You may know it as Blue Moon.

During the tour, we went to the different levels of the park. This view is great with the mountains in the back. There really isn't a bad seat in a baseball park.

In the club levels, they have different pictures and art. This was given to the team from one of the all star games.

Our tour guide really wanted to surprise Peyton so he covered his eyes as he lead him down the hall...

To see Mickey. This was also a gift to the Rockies.

We sat in the press box. This is where all the press sit during the game.

We had two guides and they gave the boys baseballs that were used during a game and trading cards.

We saw were the players go into their locker room...

Before heading out onto the field.

This was the visitors dugout. Where they keep all their hats, balls, bats, etc.

Colson was in awe of this experience.

After we left the tour, we headed to the baseball museum.

They have different pieces from all the different parks. I could spend hours in this museum.

I want a sign made with this saying for my house. Or maybe Travis's "man shop"!

Next stop was Cherry Cricket for lunch. It was a fun restaurant with bar food.

Since the Rockies won game one, Papa bought ice cream to settle up the bet these boys made.

A quick swim for the boys before we headed to the field.

We went early for batting practice.

There is something about ballpark food. It's so good. I will say, each park seems to have a "special" food item. The Rockies park served apple pie nachos that were AMAZING but they stopped serving them during covid. It seems like they no longer have anything unique to the park.

The boys each got a ball signed.

We went to meet Dinger and were successful on night two!

He also signed pictures for the boys!

Game two wasn't great. The Angels beat the Rockies 25-1. The energy was very different from night one. Still happy to be watching in person.

The next morning I sat for a few minutes drinking my coffee just taking in this view.

The boys got to see a firetruck and the guys working were so nice.

We had a few hours before we needed to head to the airport so we went and visited the zoo.
The Denver zoo has so many animals.

This bird was new and he was running back and forth along the fence. We were all laughing at how happy he was showing off for all the people.

I personally love the giraffes.

Peyton was so excited to see elephants.

Charlee loves flamingos, because they are pink, so I facetimed her so she could see them!

As beautiful as they are, they smell horrible!

Colson really wanted to see a Toucan but this was as close as he could get, it was a Hornbill.

Love these boys!

We went back to the hotel, grabbed our bags, and headed to the airport. These two had a big weekend and it finally caught up to them.

Flying home, I sat by this cutie.

Colson said this trip was better than Disney which made me super happy!
I see more baseball trips in our future!
