Homemade Playdough

One of Colson's favorite things to do is make a giant mess with playdough.
I decided to try and make some. I've pinned several recipes on Pinterest and finally decided to give it a try. Colson loves to help me with things so it was a great activity for us to enjoy together.

What you'll need:

-1 cup flour
-1/3 cup salt
-2 teaspoons cream of tarter
-1cup water
-1 tablespoon vegetable oil
-food coloring of your choice

Step 1 - Combine the flour, salt and cream of tartar in a medium saucepan.

Step 2 - Add in the water and oil and cook over medium heat. Add in your food coloring and cook until it all starts to stick together. It will begin to look dry and start to form a ball.

Step 3 - Put it on your counter and knead until it's cool.

That's it! Colson was very impressed with the final product!

His only complaint was that it didn't smell good.

I love that he is learning and playing at the same time. My mindset on playdough might be changing...
It will store in a ziplock bag. I see more of this in our future!
